COLORS OF MODERN CHINA RAISED MORE THAN RMB 148K FOR CHARITY

COLORS OF MODERN CHINA opened its doors on November 7 with an evening reception and a live auction of selected pieces from the artist benefiting Shanghai Sunrise, a charity supporting under-privileged Shanghainese kids in need.

Almost 100 contemporary photography and art lovers came to the stylish foyer of the Cross Tower, provided by WorldUnion Investment Management (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., to enjoy Astrid’s contemporary photography which was beautifully arranged and curated by Katherine Hou, founder and owner of Gallery ABIB.

Over wine courtesy of French restaurant Cuivre and canapes from the M1NT Club, guests were introduced to Astrid’s unique photographic interpretation of old and new in China. An exciting and competitive live auction, performed by auctioneer Lucy Wu from Shanghai LingDing Auctions and assisted by Frances O’Rouke, Chair of Shanghai Sunrise board of Directors, achieved hammer prices of almost 100% over the auction starting prices.

The evening’s excitement was captured by photographer Allen Xu from UKON Photography.

A big thank you to all the sponsors including Asian Tiger Mobility, for installing and dismantling the exhibition as well as the teams of WorldUnion Investment Management (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Sunrise for helping out with the organization of the exhibition.

When COLORS OF MODERN CHINA’s doors closed in the evening of November 23, more than RMB 148k will have been raised for Shanghai Sunrise.

I would like to express my gratitude for your interest and support in my work and your generosity to Shanghai Sunrise.

Sales originating from COLORS OF MODERN CHINA will go to Shanghai Sunrise until the end of the year.
