SURREALITY

SURREALITY reflects the surreal feeling I experienced when entering the Dead Vlei valley in Namibia. The 900 year old dead trees that aren’t decomposed due to the dry weather, situated on the white clay surface with the orange sand dunes and the strong blue sky in the background provide a surreal atmosphere. To visualise and enhance this bizarre feeling, I combined camera movement and straight shots through multi-exposure while changing the white balance to achieve surreal colour effects and express this surreality.
